Abstract

Background. During the 1930s and 1960s, during the development of the collective farm system, serious adjustments were made to the remuneration of collective farmers. Special attention is given to the published legal acts and statistical materials. The methodology of the study is based on the principles of a systematic approach to the consideration of the history of Soviet society. Methodological potential includes: comparativehistorical method, the use of which allows to compare the remuneration of different categories of collective farmers of the European North of Russia; statistical method, the importance of which is obvious for the analysis of data related to the study of the financial situation of the population.

Attention is paid to the problem of relations within the collective farm society, including those related to the issues of the remuneration of various categories of collective farmers.
Coclusions. The system collective farms managers’ remuneration differed from the remuneration of ordinary farmers. Chairmen of collective farms much earlier than other categories of collective farmers received first guaranteed payment in workdays, and then were transferred to cash payment. By the end of 1960-ies there was an approximation of wages in collective farms to the level and forms prevailing in the state, primarily agricultural, enterprises. There was still discontent of collective farmers of their financial status position, as the wages of agricultural workers lagged far behind the level of wages in industry.
